Mission Ready to Jamaica 2025 with ICI
On April 26, 2025, the Angel Reign Foundation was pleased to join a medical mission in Jamaica with Integrative Clinics International (ICI). After months of preparation, including securing documentation, arranging flights, and ensuring supplies and equipment were mission-ready, a diverse group of healthcare professionals gathered in Montego Bay. This team consisted of an array of healthcare workers, photographer, teacher, and dentists. Upon arrival, the team was warmly greeted by ICI’s organizer, Felicia, who welcomed them with great vibes and loving arms. The medical equipment and medicine were packed into the second van pick-up, and the group traveled to the Silver Sands community. Here, two beachfront homes and one hillside home were made available for the team. Each home was equipped with two house personnel responsible for daily laundry and cleaning throughout the week, allowing the team members to focus on serving various communities in the region.
The domestic setup was well organized, with daily drivers, house support, and homemade breakfast and dinners arranged. The arrival day set the tone for the rest of the week, as volunteers engaged in personal grocery shopping, initial meet and greet activities, and enjoyed day drinking. The healthcare workers, skilled in assessing character and needs, quickly understood that openness and care among the group would define the week’s adventures. As luck would have it, a skilled photographer was among the non-medical volunteers to help document the efforts made throughout the week.
The first real day began with members meeting at the main home, a beachfront property called “Ep Tide”. After enjoying a homemade Jamaican breakfast, the team prepped medications for dispensing, which was could be quite a longer process if there were limited volunteers. Shortly afterwards, the whole group loaded back onto the van and traveled to Port Royal, where a one-night stay was arranged to facilitate their service in the first clinic in Kingston. Port Royal was known for the Pirate history, a great earthquake and the a famous James Bond film location. The famous Jamaican saying, “We do not have problems, we only have situations” was shouted among the group if there seemed to be a snag with details along their journey. That second night offered a cultural experience at the infamous Kingston club, “The Dub Club,” where DJs and artists performed. The team received a warm shout-out for their efforts to deliver much-needed aid to various communities in Jamaica, adding to the camaraderie and sense of purpose shared by all.
For the next four days, the group assisted in six locations, splitting into two groups on two days to reach more patients. After 8 to 10 hours of work each day, they spent their nights back in Silver Sands. One night, the group was hosted for dinner and a pool party at the hillside home, called “Wind Down,” where the motto was “What happens in Wind Down stays in Wind Down.”
The final day of service took the group to Nine Mile for a joint effort with the Bob Marley Foundation. Two members broke away from the group to deliver quick assessments and medicine to those unable to leave their homes. After a full day of service, the group toured the Bob Marley Museum before kicking off the party. The night ended with a dinner celebration hosted by one of the founders of the Bob Marley Foundation, featuring dancing and drinking, and capped off with a sunset hike at the renowned Nine Mile.
The last day of the medical mission was a free day, spent together at the beachside. The private party continued in the sea and at a nearby beach bar. Sipping on “Pain Killers” throughout the day, it was a beautiful end to their mission. While most of the group returned stateside, six members extended their vacation and ventured to Negril, where the clouds sit on the sun-kissed horizon and the magical skyline offers a well-deserved relaxation. Through the week-long journey, everyone came to. This medical mission embodied the Angel Reign Foundation’s commitment to service, travel, and fun. By combining their expertise, compassion, and dedication, the team made a significant impact, demonstrating that even small acts of kindness can create lasting change in the world.
